Okeechobee at the Capitol: A Look at Rural County Days in Tallahassee

Okeechobee had an incredible opportunity to shine at Rural County Days in Tallahassee, and we were honored to be part of this important event! Alongside several other organizations, including our valued community partners, we proudly represented Okeechobee at the Capitol, highlighting the many reasons why our community is a vital part of Florida’s rural economy and culture.

Showcasing Okeechobee at Our Booth

One of the highlights of our participation was our booth, which served as a hub for sharing information about our vibrant community. Thanks to the collaboration of the Chamber and our community partners, we had the opportunity to distribute materials, including the Chamber's Community Guide and Business Journal, which showcase the businesses, attractions, and opportunities that make Okeechobee a great place to live, work, and visit.

In addition to handing out informational resources, we brought a taste of Okeechobee to Tallahassee! Our booth featured Prime Rib Sliders and Swamp Cabbage, a local delicacy that gave visitors a real flavor of our culture. The food drew in attendees and provided the perfect icebreaker to start engaging conversations about our community’s history, industries, and way of life.

The delicious food and well-curated materials sparked interest and meaningful discussions about what makes Okeechobee unique.
